Sasco rejects 'any attempt' to make COVID jab compulsory for university students
Sasco said it fully supported the rollout of vaccines for students but making it compulsory to get the jab could fuel hesitation.

The Basic Education Department issued an appeal to parents and communities to protect schools against disruptions, as grade seven pupils returned to the classrooms on Tuesday.
The organisation, which has been vocal about the closure of schools since the academic year resumed last month, said pupils are being forced to choose between their lives or an education.

On Sunday, the Department of Higher Education and Training announced that debt owed to universities by over R52,000 students would be settled.
