Scopa said R10 billion has been spent on operations since January and the practitioners were expected to have completed their working in March.
The unions said that the court judgment ordering the business rescue practitioners to stop the retrenchment processes at South African Airways (SAA) was proof that they never had the workers' best interests at heart.
The airline could be grounded permanently after the department of enterprises rejected a request for a R10 billion bailout earlier this month.
They've issued a notice under Section 189 and 189A of the Labour Relations Act.
