ANC to submit complaint to BCCSA, SAHRC over eNCA journo's mask incident
The ANC's Jessie Duarte has also urged Icasa to investigate whether eNCA's conduct was inconsistent with its licence conditions.
According to a report in 'Sunday World,' the DJ was taken off air after allegedly using an adaption of the isiZulu swear word "msunery" in response to a listener on air. In a separate incident DJ Fresh allegedly told another listener to "stop tweeting from his ar**".
The DA had demanded the corporation air the message after a broadcast by President Cyril Ramaphosa on land in his capacity as African National Congress leader.
DA MP Phumzile van Damme says the SABC has not afforded the DA the same opportunity to present its position on the matter.
Lobby groups lodged a complaint with Icasa over the SABC’s decision which they say amounts to censorship.
The BCCSA instructed the SABC to issue an on-air apology from Jansen.
