Sunday marked the demolition of the Bank of Lisbon Building which was deemed structurally unfit following a fire last year which claimed the lives of 3 fire fighters. The new building will be used to house provincial government department.
In 2018 three firefighters died while battling a fire which started on the 23rd floor of the building used by the health department.
It’s been over a year since the tragic Bank of Lisbon fire and firefighters are still dealing with the trauma after three of their colleagues died. EWN spoke to two firefighters, on condition of anonymity, about the tragedy and how their mental health has been affected.
