Solidarity, AfriForum to oppose new UFS language policy
Afrikaans will no longer be the primary medium of instruction starting in 2017.
Afriforum claims Afrikaans-speaking students have been disadvantaged in some faculties at the institution.
This comes after the university held a meeting on the language policy & language plan without them.
The police and demonstrating students have exchanged volleys of rubber bullets and stones.
The municipality has accused AfriForum of inciting anger by replacing the previous street names.
The two men, aged 28 and 31, will be charged with malicious damage to property.
It’s alleged two black students threatened several others, saying they wanted to kill all the whites.
