Failure to get united African vote proves costly for Morocco
Eleven African countries voted for the joint North American bid of the US, Canada and Mexico, who will host the 2026 finals.
The joint North American bid of Canada, Mexico and the US is the favourite to win when the member associations of world soccer’s governing body FIFA vote at its Congress in Moscow on 13 June.
The proposals will be submitted to the Fifa Council at its next full meeting in Bahrain in May for a final decision, Fifa said.
