While it’s all systems go for the start of school the Gauteng Education Dept is still working to place thousands of children.
Gauteng Education Department’s spokesperson Oupa Bodibe says it’s all systems go on Wednesday as schools in the province reopen.
Thousands are expected back at school tomorrow but about 45,000 grade 1 & 8 pupils still don’t have places in provincial schools.
The Basic Education Dept says parents will be notified via SMS by this week on where their children have been placed.

The department says over 50,000 parents of pupils in grade 1 and 8 have been offered spaces for the 2017 academic year.
The department says its received over 200,000 applications since it launched the online system.

The MEC yesterday announced a technical problem with the GDE online registration process has been resolved.
The launch of Gauteng Education's online application site was delayed due to technical problems.
The process had to be postponed last week due to problems with the portal, which led it to it crashing.
The dept says a team of experts has been appointed to monitor the system when it goes live next week.
