Eskom has attributed the stabilisation of the national grid to improved electricity generation.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is currently visiting the Kusile Power Station in Mpumalanga, which added 4800 megawatts to the grid.
Ramaphosa says Kusile’s return to functioning at maximum capacity has significantly contributed to addressing the energy crisis.
"In September last year, a final unit at Kusile was brought to life. This is now a fully operational power station, contributing a total of 4800 megawatts to the national grid. What a joy that is. Something that we thought was taking forever to happen, but when we were told that it had come on stream, some of US celebrated quietly."
