JOHANNESBURG - The Saldanha Bay Municipality remains fully committed to finding six-year-old Joshlin Smith who has now been missing for nine days.
Joshlin disappeared from her family home in Middelpos after being left in the care of her mother's boyfriend Jacquin Appollis last Monday.
Police have taken Joshlin's mother Kelly Smith and Appollis to a place of safety after an angry mob ransacked the homes of residents believed to be suspects on Monday night, while also accusing the couple of being involved in the little girl's disappearance.
Saldanha Bay Mayor Andre Truter said as a result, the search for Joshlin was temporarily called off on Tuesday, but police continued looking for her on Wednesday without the community.

"We are still fully committed. I'm working with other resources which I can't mention at the moment and I'm also hoping to meet before the week is out with the provincial commissioner."
Truter said the municipality would not tolerate innocent people's lives being placed in danger, during the search for Joshlin.
