South Africa's new vehicle sales have picked up for the NINTH month in a row.
The naamsa figures for June 2025 show an increase of 18.7 % year on year.
A total of 47,294 units were sold - 7,444 more than the 39,850 sold in June 2024.
The nation's favourite brand, Toyota, remained top of the list with 11,690 vehicles sold.
Suzuki maintained its number two position, at less than half that number, with sales totalling 5,221.
Third-placed Volkswagen is closing in though on the Japanese brand, just shy of 5,000 units.
For the first half of the year new vehicle sales were now 13,6% ahead of the corresponding period for 2024, naamsa says, supported by and large by an influx of affordable imported models.
"The first half of the year is definitely looking pleasing in terms of new vehicle sales as opposed to what happened in 2024 and the years before that, when a lot more people were going for pre-owned cars."
