Riverlands community says not much has changed since August’s severe flooding

CAPE TOWN - The Riverlands community said that not much had changed since severe flooding swept through the small rural town outside Cape Town in August.
Tuesday marks exactly two months since gushing water from four collapsed dams wreaked havoc in Riverlands, damaging people's homes.

More than 200 people were affected and sought shelter with friends, family, and community centres.
Some have returned to their homes.
When Eyewitness News visited Riverlands on 8 August, Shane Moses' informal structure was completely waterlogged, and his furniture destroyed.
However, he has now returned after weeks of staying with family and explained why: "My kids and my wife were starting to complain, so that's why I decided I'm going to fix my house, clean up, and move back to my house."
Over 30 people are still being accommodated at a local church and a community centre.
