A BackaBuddy campaign has been launched to support Zelmarie’s recovery after she was tragically hit by a drunk driver last month while training for the Two Oceans Marathon.

The accident left her with severe injuries, requiring major surgeries and a long road to recovery.

Her rehabilitation includes learning to walk again, ongoing medical check-ups, and various orthopaedic support equipment.

Despite being launched eight days ago, the campaign surpassed its R30,000 goal.
