JOHANNESBURG - Rea Vaya passengers may find themselves stranded on Friday morning due to a temporary suspension.
The Johannesburg Metro issued a suspension notice on Thursday, alerting commuters that feeder buses would temporarily not be operating.
The metro said the bus operating companies raised safety and security concerns, which prompted the move.
The city said it was engaging the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system to find a solution to the safety concerns so that operations can resume.
This as two bus drivers were shot and killed earlier in February in two separate incidents.

Investigations into the murders are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has been providing escort services from the bus stations to their final destinations.
