Progressive Caucus offers ANC chance to form govt without DA, FF+
The Progressive Caucus represents 13% of the National Assembly and this would be enough to form a majority government with the ANC.

CAPE TOWN - The Progressive Caucus has offered the African National Congress (ANC) a chance to form a government without the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the Freedom Front Plus (FF+).
The newly formed parliamentary grouping includes six parties represented in Parliament with a combined 48 seats.
Representatives from the caucus held a media briefing at the Taj Hotel in Cape Town on Friday morning.

The caucus wants the ANC to remain true to its progressive values.
The Progressive Caucus represents 13% of the National Assembly and this would be enough to form a majority government with the ANC.
EFF deputy president, Floyd Shibambu, said there was still time for the ANC to dump the DA and FF+ plus in favour of the Progressive Caucus.
"Let's constitute a progressive government in south afric instead of collaboration with political parties that, as the Al Jamah-ah president is saying, are rooted in colonialism and apartheid."
Members of the caucus have pledged to only negotiate with the ANC as a block and not individually going forward.
