JOHANNESBURG - Police have expressed confidence that justice will be served in the case of patron torture at a Pretoria East nightclub.

Earlier this week, the Zanzou nightclub made headlines after it emerged that its bouncers physically and sexually assaulted patrons.

The bouncers were exposed on social media when several videos, believed to have been leaked by a frustrated employee, went viral.

On Thursday, police made a breakthrough in the Zanzou torture case, arresting one of the bouncers allegedly involved in the incident.

Seven more individuals remain on the police's wanted list, including a person of interest who is believed to be in possession of over 75 videos of the bouncers torturing other patrons.

National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola stated that his team was working diligently to apprehend the remaining suspects.

"There is only one suspected arrested, we are still looking for others and we will be making arrests in due course," said Masemola.

More videos have since emerged on social media showing the very same bouncers assaulting other patrons.
