The MK Party submitted a motion for a vote of no confidence against President Cyril Ramaphosa last week.
They have now written to the Speaker of the House to allow secret ballots for this vote.
The party argues that this will protect voters against intimidation and protect the integrity of the process.
Makhubele says this vote must be entered into with high levels of integrity, and members of parliament must be free to 'vote with their conscience'.
“We think this is a very important step towards restoring governance and integrity in our nation at many levels.”
- Colleen Makhubele, Chief Whip - MK Party
She adds that GNU partners, particularly the DA, should support the motion if they are prepared to ‘put their money where their mouths are'.
“We are giving them an opportunity now to exercise their conscience with integrity.”
- Colleen Makhubele, Chief Whip - MK Party
“Let us be fair and assess President Ramaphosa without any colours of t-shirts.”
