JOHANNESBURG - A man has lost his life in a suspected crocodile attack at the Mogalakwena River in Limpopo.
Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that Oscar Serumula may have been attacked while fishing.
His body was discovered with severe injuries, including missing hands and damage to his stomach.
Provincial police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said a probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident had been launched.
“The provincial search and rescue team was summoned to the scene, and the body was retrieved from the river. He was certified dead by members of emergency medical services personnel. A case of inquest was registered for further investigations.”
