Screening and sanitisation under way 

Here's how a school in Limpopo is conducting its first day.

Pupils and teachers have been posting pictures of themselves on their first day back.

MECs of education across all provinces are out and about to oversee the reopening this morning.

Pupils in the Western Cape, however, have already been back at school since 1 June. Now, it's time for grade 7s and 12s around the rest of the country to join them.

After delays, back and forth engagements with many stakeholders, it's back to school for thousands of pupils across South Africa this morning.
