The Democratic Alliance is launching its manifesto ahead of the 2019 national elections.

And that's a wrap! The DA manifesto launch is done.

Maimane sends a thank-you message to Helen Zille, saying Alan Winde will do as well as she did as premier of the Western Cape.

The best proof of the DA's success is that unemployment is 11% less than the rest of the country, says Maimane.

Maimane speaking on corruption, and saying it's not isolated to corruption at the top. He makes the example of ward councillors, saying it makes its way to the top. He says this is not the South Africa we want.

Maimane says those who started as liberators are now looters. From the arms deal to Bosasa.  BD

Maimane: I celebrate Helen Suzman because she stood alone and fought for the liberation of all people. Black and white.

Maimane says when SAns who voted in 1994 because they did what they had to do voting for the liberation movement. They were promised a better life.

Maimane's walk around the stadium is taking a while. Even the singers are starting to sound a bit tired...

Maimane invoking his mini Mandela as he walks towards the stage...

"You know him as Dumelang Bagaeotso, you might have seen him in blue, Soweto's mini Mandela... MMUSI MAIMANE!!!! Tonight on Saturday Night Action Night."

Maimane is expected to address the crowd shortly.

Phumzile van Damme is up introducing DA leader Mmusi Maimane ahead of his address.

"We are grateful for the leader we have, and the tough job he has."
"The DA is the only party that can and will defeat the ANC here in Gauteng" -- Solly Msimanga, DA Gauteng premier candidate
"It was the DA who called for a debate on Eskom" -- John Steenhuisen, DA chief whip
"In Jozi we are fighting corruption, investigating over 4 000 corruption cases, involving more than R24 billion." -- Herman Mashaba

DA leader Mmusi Maimane will address supporters after 1pm, says the DA.

In the meantime, the DA is hopeful their manifesto will be what South Africans want to hear.

“We will put an agenda of hope and change. If you’re unhappy about your circumstances and want change, here’s the opportunity, the DA ladder of opportunity.” -- John Steenhuisen
