947’s Anele and The Club talk more about it.
Listen below:
If you can afford to go on vacation, but your partner cannot, do you still go? Or, do you pay for both of you?
947 listener Ruben got everyone involved trying to decide if he was a bad person for telling his girlfriend not to join him on holiday because her finances were not up to par.
Frankie says Ruben was right, because who wants to go on vacation with a group of people but one person is cash-strapped?
“If we want to go eat at the Spur, but you only have Big Mac money… we must either chip in for you or we must all go have fast food somewhere.”
– Frankie du Toit
For Cindy, this one goes a little deeper… you may need to call it quits on your relationship Ruben.
“If you are not willing to bring her with on the Easter weekend because she is poor, break up with her… What is the point of being in a relationship with somebody if it’s not long term?”
– Cindy Poluta
“Yes, Ruben, you are the ... here for not wanting to go on a holiday with your girlfriend because she can’t afford it…. [if he can’t afford double] then he can’t afford anything.”
– Anele Mdoda
