JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has committed itself to the coalition government in the province, saying it's working very well.

The party in KZN is in a coalition government with the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), African National Congress (ANC), and National Freedom Party (NFP).

With the ANC and DA recently falling out in the national coalition, there have been concerns over whether this will spill over to KZN.

The DA KZN leader and the province’s Finance MEC, Francois Rodgers, has called on the Government of National Unity (GNU) partners to settle their differences for South Africa's good.

“In KZN, we have proven that it can work. It’s certainly not perfect, but we don’t take our differences outside of the boardroom. We sit around the table, we look at what the common areas are, and we address those differences with what everyone thinks is the outcome of the situation is, and that’s our appeal.”
