Kaizer Chiefs grieves the loss of Luke Fleurs: 'We were looking at great things for him'
Fleurs was killed during a hijacking on Wednesday night where the suspects fled with his vehicle.

JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs has expressed sadness at the sudden loss of their player, Luke Fleurs.
Fleurs was killed during a hijacking on Wednesday night where the suspects fled with his vehicle.
The defender signed for the Soweto giants in October 2023, and while he was yet to represent the club in an official match, he was earmarked as a star for the future.

“We were looking at great things for Luke to happen with Luke at the club. At the age of 24, having played for other clubs as well, including Supersport United, and having made national team colours at the Olympics – this is potential that is taken too soon from us" said Kaizer Chiefs Communications Manager Vina Maphosa.
Chiefs say they hope the perpetrators will be caught and brought to book swiftly.
Meanwhile, a specialised team of detectives has been appointed to investigate the
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says no arrests have been made.
"While waiting to be served by the petrol attendant, he was confronted by two armed males who came driving a white BMW 1 Series. The suspects pointed him with a firearm and took him out of his vehicle, then shot him once on the upper body. "
