The City of Cape Town has invited residents and interested stakeholders to comment on the land use application for the proposed redevelopment of the Strand Street Quarry.
Located along Strand Street and nestled between the historic Bo-Kaap and De Waterkant, the site is earmarked for transformation into a vibrant, multi-use community precinct.
The vision includes spaces for sports, cultural activities, economic opportunities, and tourism.
"The land use application is based on the vision that we crafted in collaboration with the directly affected communities with the intention to deliver a fully developed site that will benefit Capetonians for generations to come," said Alderman Eddie Andrews, Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment.
