As of 7 August, the US will implement a 30% trade tariff on South African goods.
Maimane argues that the Government of National Unity (GNU) must take the blame for not acting to avert the imposition of these tariffs.
He adds that conversations around AGOA started late in the Biden administration, and we did not spend enough time as a country improving ties with the US.
