Gauteng Health MEC Nkomo-Ralehoko says all services at Tembisa Hospital are fully operational
Gauteng health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko confirmed during a media briefing on Sunday that the fire did not affect any of the hospital's wards and families are allowed to visit their loved ones as usual.

JOHANNESBURG - All services at Tembisa hospital are fully operational following a fire at the facility's accident and emergency unit over the weekend.
Gauteng health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko confirmed during a media briefing on Sunday that the fire did not affect any of the hospital's wards and families are allowed to visit their loved ones as usual.

The MEC has also revised the number of affected patients to 81 an increase from the 58 initially reported.
Of those, 17 were transferred to other hospitals, while 50 were moved to different wards within the facility...Two remain in intensive care, and one is in high care.
Nkomo-Ralehoko said investigations into the cause of Saturday's fire are still ongoing, but the hospital continues to operate.
"Families were able to come and see their loved ones as per the normal arrangements of the hospital. This is because the fire has not affected the wards, so other wards of the hospital are working," said Nkomo-Ralehoko.
