JOHANNESBURG - The Free State High Court has relaxed the bail conditions for Ace Magashule’s former personal assistant, Moroadi Cholota.

Cholota is one of the accused in the trial related to the awarding of a dodgy multi-million rand asbestos tender.

She stands accused alongside 17 others, including former premier Magashule and controversial businessman Edwin Sodi.

Cholota was extradited from the United States in August last year, where she was a student.

Her lawyer, Advocate Loyiso Makaphela, pleaded that all her bail conditions, including reporting to a police station, be relaxed.

However, she later conceded to the State’s request before Judge Philip Loubser, who made an order.

"I make the following order as far as accused number 17 is concerned. The conditions of bail are amended to the effect that she no longer has to report to the police station on Mondays and Fridays, but she has to report to the investigating officer if she needs to leave the Free State province."
