JOHANNESBURG - A family member of the two siblings who were killed in a car crash on Monday in Ekurhuleni suspects there was foul play at the scene of the accident.

Sibusiso Zulu claims that the second vehicle in the crash was removed from the scene in a bid to conceal evidence.

The scholar transport vehicle was allegedly hit by a car driven by an Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) member.

Zulu said all they had been able to confirm from seeing the accident scene was that the EMPD vehicle crashed into the scholar transport from behind.

However, he is questioning why the EMPD vehicle was removed from the scene.

City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, said they would be investigating this.

Zulu said he wanted justice for his nephews, Hlompho Mofokeng and Khethelo Zulu.

"It makes me angry. You cannot tamper with the scene. Well, they have their own reason on why they did that, I have my own reason. Why did they remove the one car and not the other?"

Dlamini added that the EMPD officer was still in hospital.
