JOHANNESBURG - Minister of Social Development Sisisi Tolashe said that the family of a Limpopo woman found dead in a pigsty would be given funding for her burial.
Maria Makgato was shot with another woman, Kudzai Ndlovu, and their decomposed bodies were discovered at a farm last weekend.
The single mother of four was reported missing by her family when she did not return home, and her phone was switched off.
The Department of Social Development said their bodies were found inside a pig's enclosure at a farm in Sebayeng Village.
"Minister Tolashe said the social worker appointed to the case will continue with psychosocial support and aftercare services," said the department's Bathembu Futshane.
"They will compile a report to determine a suitable person to care for the children. The family will be provided with Social Relief of Distress while awaiting the post-mortem results so they can finalise the burial service of the deceased."
