'I'm going to make a change': Matric pupil boycotts class for climate change
Raeesah Noor-Mahomed, a matric learner at Parktown High School for Girls, is boycotting school every Friday to get her climate change message across to the Department of Environmental Affairs and the government.
Students demand rape, murder accused Aubrey Manaka's release to 'discipline him'
Rape accused Aubrey Manaka made his second appearance in the Morebeng Magistrates Court on Thursday for allegedly raping and stabbing Precious Ramabulana, a Capricorn TVET College student 52 times in November last year. He was also charged with raping a five-year-old girl. Students protested outside calling for Manaka to be released so that they could discipline him.

In November 2019, Aubrey Manaka was apprehended for the rape and murder of 21-year-old Limpopo student Precious Ramabulana. She was found with 52 stab wounds. Following his first appearance, the family of a then 5-year-old spoke to EWN about how their daughter was violated, allegedly by Manaka.
