Tshegofatso Pule's alleged killer appears in court

Muzikayise Malephane (31) was arrested on Monday while traveling from Mpumalanga. He is accused of stabbing Pule multiple times and hanging her on a tree in Durban Deep last week. She was eight months pregnant.

Under level 3 lockdown regulations, alcohol may only be sold from Monday to Thursday. Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lt General Elias Mawela and Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko led an operation in Soweto to make sure people were complying with the new regulations but several motorists were caught with alcohol in their possession outside the designated days.

Motorists caught with alcohol in their possession on Saturday evening were asked to drain their booze or face jail time during an operation led by Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lt General Elias Mawela and Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura on Friday said the province had recorded its biggest jump in COVID-19 infections over the past seven-day period. The province now has 4,839 infections, with 2,527 of them active cases. Makhura mapped out Gauteng's hoptspots and number of active cases in each area.
