CAPE TOWN - The city says multiple construction projects are underway for its MyCiTi bus service to connect commuters from Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha with Wynberg and Claremont.
Mayco member for urban mobility, Rob Quintas, said the project would take about three years to complete and would see the construction of dedicated bus lanes and improvements to transport facilities.
Quintas said that major construction work was currently underway along Turfhall Road in Lansdowne.
"Work is taking place between 9am and 3pm on weekdays to minimise the impact on road users during peak hours with work scheduled to take place on weekends and public holidays when needed. Temporary walkways and detours are in place for pedestrians, however, residents will have acces to their properties at all times. Pending delays, the project will be completed by July 2027."
