JOHANNESBURG - Tentative fuel price predictions indicate a rare reprieve for embattled consumers from next month, the Automobile Association (AA) has said.
And while July fuel prices will only officially be announced by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) next week, the AA said unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) informed their projection of roughly R1 per litre of ULP93 and ULP95.

Diesel and paraffin prices will likely decrease by around 30 cents per litre, and 25 cents per litre, respectively.
This is the second consecutive fuel price decrease, with June seeing petrol come down by R1.24 per litre, and diesel up to R1.19 per litre.
"Consumers generally will also benefit as input costs won’t be negatively impacted and prices at the till are, therefore, unlikely to increase,” the AA said in a press release on Thursday.
According to CEF data, the main driver of the latest predicted price drop is owed to international product pricing.
