    World powers agree at UN on inclusive Afghan government

    China and Russia have described last month's Taliban victory as a defeat for the United States and moved to work with the insurgents, but no country has moved to recognize a government that includes international pariahs.

    French anger to test UN unity

    Ministers of the five veto-wielding nations on the UN's most powerful body - Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States - will meet together Wednesday during the annual week of diplomacy, with the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan high on the agenda.
