The 17 April elections were the first time the country of 260 million people combined the presidential vote with national and regional parliamentary ones, with an aim to cut costs.
While official results are not due until next month, a series of so-called "quick counts" by pollsters showed Widodo holding a strong lead with around 55% of the vote to Subianto's 44%.
