South Africa has the highest number of people in the world living with HIV despite the percentage of HIV declining by 16%. KwaZulu-Natal has the highest prevalence in the country. EWN visited Eshowe, a community which has drastically reduced the number of infections to find out how they did it with the help of Doctors Without Borders. But what will happen when they leave?
This success was achieved through the intervention of foreign medical aid, specifically the humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
A group of about 300 community members have been protesting since Wednesday night after a man was shot and killed by a security guard on the farm.
