Khawaja, Harris dumped from Australia test squad

Opener Harris averaged 9.66 against England in the last three tests of the Ashes and has been jettisoned in favour of Queensland’s Joe Burns for the series, which starts in Brisbane on 21 November.

    Wade ton in vain as England force Ashes draw

    Matthew Wade’s defiant century proved in vain as England bowled Australia out for 263 to win the final test at The Oval by 135 runs on Sunday and ensure the first drawn Ashes series since 1972.

    Smith continues to paper over Australia's batting cracks

    Barring a 48 from Marnus Labuschagne, the only supporting actor behind Smith’s virtuoso series, Australia’s recognised batsmen failed to surpass 19 runs as the tourists crumbled for 225 in reply to England’s first innings 294.

    'We urned it' - Aussie pride restored in Ashes triumph

    Australia's cricketers have restored national pride by retaining the coveted Ashes trophy following a reputation-shattering cheating scandal, according to the country's media who bragged: "We urned it."

    Australia star Smith hits fifty on Ashes return

    Smith, a shining light for the tourists on a dull day in Manchester, was 60 not out in a stumps total of 170-3 on a rain-marred first day of the fourth Test where only 44 overs out of a scheduled 90 were bowled.

    Australia look to Smith after England 'steal' Ashes

    Australia will make at least one change, with star batsman Smith returning from the concussion he suffered after being hit by a 92mph Jofra Archer bouncer that ruled him out of the third Test.
