CapeTalk’s Clarence Ford speaks with Sir Stuart Ntlathi, Chief Product Officer at Sir Industries and BRICS ambassador for South Africa.

Listen below:

Parts of Cape Town are without water supply until 7 pm on Thursday (10 April) as the municipality carries out planned maintenance work.

While maintaining the network goes a long way in ensuring water supply stability, South Africans must also play their part, says Ntlathi.

“South Africans in general are not responsible water consumers... a serious problem that we grew up with… we are wasting water..."
– Sir Stuart Ntlathi, Chief Product Officer – Sir Industries

Ntlanti’s team is working on ways to use smart technology to improve the supply and quality of water.

With portable water filtration, drinkable water will be accessible to the most remote locations.
