With tensions continuing in the Middle East, South African motorists are likely to face a significant fuel price hike in May, after already adjusting to April's increase.
As consumers brace for the extra pressure on their wallets, a Pretoria TikToker is providing some light relief with an entertaining skit that illustrates just how little bang you get for your buck at the filling station.

We've already heard the expression "to live on the smell of an oil rag" when times are tough, but Sally-Ann Van der Merwe takes this concept a step further.
In her video, all she gets for her money is a whiff of the diesel in the fuel hose.
The skit is ablaze on TikTok, racking up 1.2 million views and counting.
It shows Van der Merwe stopping at a filling station and asking the attendant for R100 diesel.
Without missing a beat, he brings the fuel hose to the customer, who takes an apparently satisfying sniff.
She then thanks him, hands over the R100 note and prepares to drive off.
"Nice try, that was easily R200", jokes one viewer, with another replying "Agreed, those were 3 sniffs!".
Van der Merwe thanks petrol attendant and apparently natural actor Themba for being a sport.
She says the idea for the skit came to her when she was on the road with her husband, and they realised at a filling station just how much more it was going to cost to fill up their tank.
The prolific TikToker was surprised to see that the video took off so quickly, but it has obviously struck a chord with South Africans.
