Three young people have been shot and killed in the Samora Machel informal settlement in Philippi, Cape Town, on Saturday.
The victims, aged between 16 and 21, were sitting in a vehicle on Oliver Tambo Drive when unknown suspects opened fire shortly before midday.
Spokesperson André Traut said the three died at the scene, while a fourth person was rushed to hospital for treatment.
“Police deployments in the area have been reinforced, and SAPS [South African Police Service] remains committed to bringing those responsible to justice.”
