Booysens Magistrates Court shooting: 2 killed, 3 injured

Two people have been killed, with three others injured in a shooting outside the Booysens Magistrates Court on Tuesday afternoon.

One of the victims who survived is well known attorney.

It’s believed he represented a notorious gangster who had met at the court for a consultation. 

The province's police have launched an investigation into the incident

It's understood three gunmen wearing caps approached a group of five people as they were leaving court and fired shots.

The accused was in court for a case of murder and attempted murder that happened in Mondeor, south of Johannesburg, last year.

"Two of the victims were declared dead on the scene, and three were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. The police’s serious and violent crime investigations from the provincial office will be investigating a case of two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder," said Gauteng spokesperson Brenda Muridili.
