Grieving Doornkop family seeks assistance to bury three loved ones

The family of three people who died after a building collapse in Doornkop, Soweto, is appealing for assistance from the public.

Zinhle Xaba is the daughter of 60-year-old Hloniphile Xaba, one of the deceased.

Xaba said the family has also lost their home and is seeking help with arrangements for the burial of their loved ones.

On Sunday, Hloniphile Xaba died alongside her daughter and grandchild, while the injured were visitors to the home.

Xaba added that the tragedy has left the family unsure of what the future holds.

"We really do need help with everything, right now we are sitting outside, we haven’t eaten anything including children, we don’t know where we will sleep, we really need all sorts of help," said Xaba.
