Bishop Lavis police are investigating a case of murder and robbery, following a shooting that occurred at Robert Sobukwe Road on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, the deceased was driving a taxi, and he stopped to pick up a female passenger, when he noticed a male suspect approaching the vehicle with a firearm.
Police spokesperson Ndakhe Gwala said the victim tried driving off but the male suspect opened fire.
"The 29-year-old victim sustained wounds on his upper body and succumbed a few metres from the scene. Four suspects, three females and one male, proceeded to rob the driver and the passengers before fleeing."
