Search and rescue operations are continuing in the Amanzimtoti area, south of Durban, where at least three people have been reported missing following severe weather conditions.

To bolster recovery efforts, police K9 units have been deployed to help widen the search perimeter.

According to ALS spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, teams are meticulously combing the river system starting from the point of impact.

“They have made their way from where the vehicle was found, where it was actually swept off the bridge. Nothing has been found at this stage. The teams are now making their way back to the water and then will proceed further down the stream to check that part of the river.”

Search efforts remain active as teams move downstream, navigating difficult terrain and water conditions in hopes of locating the missing individuals.
