Annual consumer price inflation dropped marginally to 3.5% in November, down from 3.6% in October.
This is the second time in 2025 that year-on-year inflation has slowed, following a previous drop in March.
Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) released the latest consumer price print on Wednesday.
The chief director for price statistics at Stats SA, Patrick Kelly, said annual inflation cooled in five of the 13 product categories.
"The biggest slowdowns were in transport, recreation, sports and culture, and information and communication. Four categories registered no change, while we noted higher rates of change for food and non-alcoholic beverages, restaurants and accommodation services, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco.”
