Johannesburg Water has announced its readiness to ensure a reliable supply of water during the upcoming festive season, a commitment reinforced by the launch of a new water tanker fleet.
The water utility officially launched the tanker fleet on Friday at its Langlaagte offices. This initiative marks a significant step towards bolstering the city's water resilience.
JW Board Chairperson, Dineo Majavu, highlighted the strategic importance of this development, stating that this milestone is an investment in improving financial sustainability.
Majavu further explained that the new fleet will substantially enhance service delivery during both planned and unplanned water interruptions. This proactive approach aims to minimise inconvenience for residents across the city.
"The board has been closely monitoring Johannesburg Water’s preparedness including the technical contingency that are at place, the reservoir management and alternative water supply management that we’ve had," Majavu said.
