Smash-and-grab murder suspects to appear in Bishop Lavis Court

Four suspects are set to make their appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates court on Friday for the brutal smash-and-grab murder of Karin van Aardt.

The 64-year-old was stabbed to death while travelling with her husband along Jakes Gerwel Drive.

Spokesperson Novela Potelwa said security is being intensified on Jakes Gerwel Drive and other identified smash-and-grab hotspots.

"Sixty-four-year-old Karin Van Aardt was stabbed to death on Friday evening along Jakes Gerwel Drive. Deployments along the crime scene and other identified hotspots have since been enhanced."
