GEORGE - There are more water woes for residents in George as the city council enforces tightened water restrictions.
The Garden Route Dam is at a critical low of 49% with officials forecasting a 2% weekly drop in water capacity.
The stricter measures include emergency water tariffs and a limit of 15,000 litres per month, per household.
Spokesperson Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe, "No hosting of paved areas, no potable water for construction and stricter monitoring is already underway. Please use water sparingly; every drop counts."
Meanwhile, the Western Cape Water Department is calling on residents to use water responsibly.
