Fire crews in the Cape Winelands are again battling on Sunday to contain a blaze in the Kogmanskloof area.
The fire broke out on the mountainous area above Ashton and Montagu just before the weekend.
The Cape Winelands District Municipality said the blaze was currently burning along the mountain tops and occasionally moves into more accessible areas.
The district's Jo-Anne Otto said it was going to be a tough day.
"A warm day with light winds is forecast, although temperatures in the mountain tops remain cool now, these are sure to heat up during the day, providing uncomfortable firefighting conditions."
Otto added that more crews are on standby to prevent property damage.
"Five vehicles and crews from the Cape Winelands Worcester and Ceres stations, as well as Langeberg Municipality, remain on standby for property protection should this become necessary."
