Ekurhuleni deputy principal rushed to hospital after being shot

The deputy principal of a school in Ekurhuleni has been rushed to hospital after being shot.

He was entering the Dinoto Technical Secondary School in Daveyton when he was shot.

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder. No arrests have been made yet.

Gauteng Education Spokesperson Steve Mabona said that the incident delayed the matric examinations.

"It is quite a concern that anyone would come to our space and want to harm our officials, so we just want to call upon law enforcement officials to apprehend the perpetrators so we can be happy."
