Police have since arrested 38-year-old Tebogo Mnisi, who is believed to be the boyfriend of one of the women.
Civic movement Soil of Africa wants Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi to address the community on plans to deal with crime in the area.
Soil of Africa’s Bongani Ramontja said they will bring parts of the city to a standstill if safety concerns are ignored.
“We have metro police, but they are nowhere to be found in high-risk areas. Who is holding the station commanders and police accountable for these deaths? The silence of the City of Tshwane is a betrayal of its own people.”
